When should you call a Moving company?

Sooner the better, ideally you should get in touch with your moving company 4 to 6 weeks prior to your moving day. This gives the moving company enough time to plan out the process and meet all your expectations. 

Moving companies sometimes may demand flexibility in the pickup and delivery dates if you are choosing their standard package. Anne Arundel Moving Company aims to meet your preferred dates or the nearest day alternative. You will receive an alert in advance for the loading date for your belongings and delivery date for your target location. 

In case, you are not flexible with your moving date for any reason, you can choose to get an extra-cost service so that we can accommodate according to your dates. However, you should connect with our team and convey this at least 2-4 weeks prior to your moving day.

What is an Estimate and do I need it?

One of our Anne Arundel Moving Company employees pays you a visit to your home to conduct a visual survey and make note of the amount of load which you are planning to move. On the basis of this survey, we will provide you an estimate for the number of items you are planning to move along with their weight. We will not charge you anything for the written estimate or order of service.

Remember that estimates contain an approximate cost just to give you a ballpark figure for the moving services. Total charges will be calculated based on the actual weight of your shipment, the distance between the two locations and the nature of services which you choose.

What is the best time to move?

We are the busiest in summers, end of the month or end-of-year holidays and thus cannot offer much flexibility in moving dates during this period. For your convenience, we recommend that you choose a moving date on weekdays if possible.

How long does it take to move?

The delivery or unloading date depends on many aspects like weather conditions, traffic conditions, size of your shipment, distance to your target location, the time needed to load and unload your belongings, etc. However, Anne Arundel Moving Company provides you a delivery date which we meet almost all the time.

My moving date has changed. What should I do?

The first thing that you must do is inform your move coordinator as soon as possible. We will try to accommodate the new dates in your moving process and you will get updates on it. Now, you may have to bear additional charges for it.

What paperwork & information is the mover obligated to provide?

Prior to the moving day, we will provide you with:

  • A copy of binding or non-binding estimate.
  • A document which will contain all your rights and responsibilities when you move.
  • Neutral dispute settlement/arbitration program information.
  • Phone number of your move coordinator for any inquiries and complaints.

On a moving day

  • A copy of the Bill of Lading/Freight Bill.

Delivery day

You will get your complete of Lading/Freight bill.

Am I protected against loss or damage while my shipment is in the move?

Yes, all of your belongings will have protection against any damages. Anne Arundel Movers offer you different protection packages like Full-Value Protection or Released Value Liability (60 cents per pound per article).

Your claims depend upon the valuation option you choose. Anne Arundel Movers liability for any loss or damage depends upon on Anne Arundel Movers tariffs and US federal laws and regulations.

Does Anne Arundel Movers move long distance?

Are there any items which I cannot move?

According to the US Law, Anne Arundel Movers are prohibited to move fireworks, guns, flammables, cleaning fluids, matches, etc. You should consult with our team to learn more about the item which you cannot move.

Can the moving company store my possessions temporarily?

Anne Arundel Movers can provide you with temporary storage services if you cannot take immediate possession. All of your belongings will be stored in one of our warehouses. However, you will have to bear charges for storage, warehouse valuation coverage and the transit charges from the warehouse to your location.

What type of packing/unpacking services do Anne Arundel Movers provide?

We can help you with packing and unpacking all of your items. However, if you want to do it yourself, you are free to do so. We can assist you in packing an item which you are unable to pack. Our aim is to assist you in whichever way we can and personalize your moving experience.

If I do my own packing, is the mover still responsible if something is lost or broken?

Yes, it is our responsibility to deliver your shipment safe and sound. If during the inspection of the shipment, we found any items which are not packed properly or can cause damage to other items, we will ask you to repack them or we will do it ourselves.

According to the Law, movers are not liable to pay for any charges or damages if they were caused due to:

  • An act of nature
  • An act of—or omission by—the shipper
  • An act of public enemy
  • An act of public authority
  • Inherent vice
What should I do with my high-value items?

Anne Arundel Movers recommends that you carry items with high monetary or sentimental value with yourself when you move.

Can I move my pets?

Movers are prohibited from carrying pets in the moving trucks. You can carry your pets in your car or you can ask your move coordinator to suggest any alternative ways for shipping your pets safely.
